Just a couriosity of mine: did the original films masters of 'The 7th guest' and 'The 11th hour' still exist? If it is so, who owns those films right now, phisically and in matter of copyrights?
I don't know you, but I'll be glad to see in a future an HD release of the game stick with the original.

Update the graphic should'nt be so difficult, with a budget and some talented people, but the original films will be absolutely necessary.
I'm not sure but I think that a puzzle games like 7/11, with updated graphic and originale uncompressed cut scenes, could be suitable to became even a DVD-game, you know the type that you play in your DVD player. Of course, I hope for an HD version suitable for PC and/or console first  Wink

I inquired to both Graham and Rob, and was informed that the FMV source elements and original 3D master files have long since been lost.

Great point about the DVD game, that should be doable. I think that if the original films and video are lost then its time to recast the game in a modern light. Its not like the game was terribly complicated. You could totally eliminate the filmed elements with good artist animation. Or you could just start fresh and remake it. Its not like the voice acting was perfect the first time around.

I agree with that, as soon as Robert Hirschboeck will be part of it again, flash and blood (plenty of it  Grin)

I'm afraid that a '7th guest' remake, without real video footage, deeply and smoothly filled in the CGI world of the manor, as it was in the original, could really lost a big part of the charming, creepy mood of the title.

You know: nowadays, we have so much good horror adventures games, totally in CGI graphics (I'm thinking of 'Dark Fall' trilogy, 'Scratches', 'Darkness within' and so on) that I really think a possible remake of the '7th guest' should use live actors to remain authentic to itself and also to be somehow different, compared to what is offering now the market.

Total agreement in regard to live action.

In my opinion, you absolutely MUST use FMV footage with real actors to maintain the integrity of the T7G legacy.  A T7G game with CGI cut scenes would ruin the whole thing.

True... you cant CGI stauf and give it the same ambiance The 7th Guest had.

So... any word on the remakes\movie projects\rereleases?
