Hi all,

Newbie here, but looooooooooooongtime Stauf/T7G fan. I'm intrigued by the talk of a sequel, and have my fingers crossed. (Also pretty stoked to see Rob & Faust lurking around...)

Anyway, even today I occasionally get the itch to play T7G - but I've come across a new issue since Windows 7 has come out... the game, while it functions pretty well, will only open in a little window. If I were to ALT+ENTER, the graphics become... well,... psychedelic.

Is there still a way to run the game fullscreen? Playing it in a little window... while it's still T7G... it's nowhere near as immersive an experience. Haaaaaalp!

I've had no trouble running The 7th Guest on Windows 7 using SCUMMVM.

It's available as a free download from www.scumvm.org and the program also supports a decent range of other classic games from the late 80s and 90s.

D'oh! Now I've run into more of an obstacle--sort of a self-imposed Staufian puzzle, I guess you could say... Where'd I put CD #2? (scummvm wants to rip the sound files from it...)

The files from CD2 just go in the T7G directory

You should rip the two audiotracks on Disc 2 to two MP3 tracks and rename them to Track1.mp3 and Track2.mp3, put them in your T7G directory and youll be fine...

For exact folder contents look here:

Just click the thumb to see the enitre contents... With this diercorty content you can flawlessly play t7g in ScummVM

PS: Ripping CD tracks can be done with Winamp and (I think) WMP can too... and there are probably millions of programs out there that convert CD audio to MP3 (just make sure to use the Lame3.98 codec for best audio quality)

Hi, it's me again...

I was only able to rip one of the two files from Disc 2 into the T7G directory - but now it's saying that 'intro.gjd' (?) could not be found. Any assistance? Smiley

The two audio tracks are only required if you want music during the intro sequence (where some of the credits show over the backdrop of the house and lightning) and the credit run at the end, so not too important.  The missing file error indicates that ScummVM can't find intro.gjd - check you copied all of the required files from both your CDs to the hard disk (in the same folder - check SpIrIt's picture for an example).
